St Andrews is famous throughout the world as the home of golf. It was not unlike croquet in it's initial form. It was established in Scotland in 1457,in which year the King banned golf because it diverted too much time away archery practice. The ban seems to have been mostly ignored.

Play the 'old course' or some of the newer courses in the St Andrews area. There are a total of 6 golf courses in St Andrews.

St Andrews beach offers quiet and tranquility. It is a clean beach where you can have fun as a family or with your dog.

Parking is available at the beach. The beach is also next to the 'Old Course'.
St Andrews University has a history covering 6 centuries and is a must visit while in St Andrews.
St Andrews Castle was the former Bishops' Palace, the residence of the Archbishops of St Andrews.

Destroyed during the Reformation, the Castle is now in a state of ruin. A modern visitor centre shows exhibits about the Castle and visitors can also explore the mines and the famous bottle dungeon.

Visitors to the St Andrews Cathedral will enjoy the breath taking setting of the ruins - the Cathedral was destroyed during the Reformation. Due to the presence of the relics of St Andrew, it was a place of pilgrimage for many during the medieval period.

The view from the top of St Rule's Tower is spectacular, and the visitor centre contains a number of artifacts and explains the history of the site.

St Andrews town centre is bustling with niche shops and high quality eateries. The atmosphere is relaxing and you can easily lose yourself here and enjoy a few hours of retail therapy.
Quad biking, off road driving and clay pigeon shooting is available at FyfeOffRoad within St Andrews if you fancy some excitement to your stay in St Andrews.

Visit the Secret Bunker, the nuclear bomb shelter which has existed for 40 years.
